Industrialist Anand Mahindra, the owner of the Mahindra Group, has once again demonstrated his generosity by fulfilling his promise to India batter Sarfaraz Khan’s father, Naushad Khan. Mahindra had pledged to gift a Mahindra Thar to Naushad after Sarfaraz made his Test debut, acknowledging Naushad’s sacrifices that contributed to Sarfaraz’s journey to representing India at the highest level.
The heartwarming gesture came after Sarfaraz’s stellar performance in his debut Test match, where he etched his name in the record books by becoming the fastest batter to score a fifty on debut. The promise was made public when the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) shared a video capturing Mahindra’s reaction to Sarfaraz’s achievement.
In the viral video, Sarfaraz and his father Naushad were seen joyfully unveiling their new Thar, a token of appreciation from Mahindra for their dedication and support. Sarfaraz’s debut series against England further solidified his place in the national team, as he consistently delivered impressive performances, including scoring half-centuries in both innings of his maiden Test.
Following India’s victorious campaign against England, where they clinched the series 4-1, Sarfaraz’s exceptional contribution earned him his first central contract from the BCCI.
