With the Delhi Capitals Women set to take on Royal Challengers Bangalore Women in the title clash of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2024 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, the Delhi Metro has announced adjustments to its timings for Sunday, March 17. This decision aims to facilitate the smooth movement of spectators after the conclusion of the highly anticipated WPL 2024 final.
The Violet Line service, which runs adjacent to the Delhi Gate station, will be operational until 12:15 am and will be extended to terminal stations across all lines. This move comes as a relief to fans, ensuring hassle-free transportation after what promises to be a historic #TATWPLFinal.
The collaboration between the Delhi Capitals and the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) aims to provide fans with convenient and safe travel options following the WPL final. Expressing gratitude for this partnership, the Delhi Capitals highlighted the importance of ensuring fans’ safety and convenience during their journey home after the exhilarating match.
In light of the unpredictable nature of sports events, the Delhi Metro has also stated that timings may be further adjusted depending on the conclusion of the match.
On the sporting front, the Meg Lanning-led Delhi Capitals Women’s team has secured a spot in the finals for the second consecutive season, having topped the points table during the league stage. With an impressive record of six wins from eight matches, they are set to face the Smriti Mandhana-led Royal Challengers Bangalore Women, who are making their maiden appearance in the WPL final.
As anticipation builds for this showdown between two formidable teams, the collaboration between the Delhi Capitals and DMRC underscores the commitment to ensuring a memorable and enjoyable experience for fans both on and off the field.
