IPL 2024: In a jaw-dropping display of power hitting, the Punjab Kings rewrote the history books of T20 cricket by chasing down a mammoth target of 262 runs with eight balls to spare against the Kolkata Knight Riders at the iconic Eden Gardens in Kolkata. Reflecting on the team’s performance, Curran expressed his delight at securing the much-needed two points, attributing the victory to Punjab Kings’ resilience and calculated approach. Despite conceding over 260 runs in the first innings, Curran emphasized that Punjab Kings thoroughly deserved the win, underscoring their determination and ability to execute under pressure.
In praising Bairstow’s match-winning innings, Curran highlighted the English batsman’s return to form after a lean spell in the tournament. Bairstow’s resurgence bodes well for Punjab Kings, providing them with a formidable batting force at the top of the order.
Furthermore, Curran lauded the contributions of Shashank Singh, who has emerged as a standout performer for Punjab Kings this season. With Shashank’s consistency and Ashutosh Sharma’s prowess with the bat, Punjab Kings enter each game with renewed confidence, bolstered by the depth and quality of their batting lineup.
