Ishan Kishan’s Incredible Shot: In a thrilling encounter between Mumbai Indians (MI) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at the Wankhede Stadium on April 11, wicketkeeper-batter Ishan Kishan stole the show with a breathtaking display of power-hitting, smashing one of the biggest sixes of the IPL 2024 season.
Facing a daunting target of 197 runs, MI’s openers Ishan Kishan and Rohit Sharma set the tone with a blistering start, reaching 32/0 in just four overs. However, it was Kishan who decided to seize the moment and launched an assault on RCB’s premier pacer Mohammed Siraj in the following over.
With a six and a four off the first two deliveries, Kishan showcased his intent. But it was his audacious shot on the third delivery that left the crowd and commentators in awe. Making room and using his lightning-quick hands, Kishan smashed a skiddy delivery from Siraj over cover-point for a sensational maximum, taking the score to 16 off just three balls.
The sheer audacity and execution of Kishan’s shot left everyone stunned, including the passionate Mumbai crowd and the on-air commentators, who were left grasping for words to describe the brilliance on display.
Kishan’s fearless approach and ability to deliver under pressure provided Mumbai Indians with the perfect start they needed in their pursuit of a challenging target, setting the stage for an enthralling contest between two of the IPL’s powerhouse teams.
