Rajasthan Royals Announce Ticket Refunds: The Rajasthan Royals (RR) have initiated a refund process for spectators who purchased tickets for their IPL 2024 clash against the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in Guwahati. The match, scheduled for Sunday, was abandoned without a ball bowled due to rain, leaving fans disappointed.
Initially hosting their games at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur, RR moved their final two matches to the Baraspara Stadium in Guwahati, following the trend set in IPL 2023. While their first encounter against the Punjab Kings (PBKS) proceeded smoothly without rain interruptions, the second match against KKR was marred by persistent downpours, foiling hopes of a shortened contest.
In a social media announcement, RR urged ticket holders to retain their physical tickets and assured refunds of the ticket face value through the booking platform, BookMyShow. Expressing gratitude to the #RoyalsFamily for their patience, RR lamented the unfortunate turn of events.
The washed-out fixture dealt a blow to RR’s aspirations of securing a top-two finish and playing Qualifier 1 instead of the Eliminator. With their winless streak extending to five matches, owing to four consecutive losses in May, RR faces an uphill battle to reclaim momentum and revive their campaign in the IPL 2024 season.
