Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) returned to social media on Thursday, nearly three months after the tragic stampede that occurred during their IPL 2025 title celebrations at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. The incident on June 4 claimed 11 lives and injured 56 others, sparking outrage over the franchise’s muted response.
Breaking their silence, RCB posted an emotional note addressing their fans – the “12th Man Army” – and unveiled “RCB Cares,” a long-term initiative to honour the deceased, support grieving families, and extend medical assistance to the injured. “Earlier, the franchise pledged ₹10 lakh in compensation to the family of each victim.”
RCB, in a heartfelt note, said the silence was not absence but grief. “June 4th changed everything and broke our hearts. From that silence came RCB Cares — a way to honour, to heal, and to stand beside our fans.”
The initiative represents a renewed commitment to their supporters, with RCB vowing to stand with the community, not just in victory, but in moments of loss.
