As per Drik Panchang, Ganesh Chaturthi 2025 was celebrated on Wednesday, August 27, to honor the birth of Lord Ganesha. The 10-day festival of devotion, cultural festivities, and family togetherness will conclude with the grand Visarjan on September 6.
On the cricketing front, Rohit was last seen during IPL 2025, where he displayed fine form for Mumbai Indians (MI). The five-time champions could not secure a playoff berth, bowing out after a five-wicket loss to Punjab Kings. However, Rohit impressed with the bat, scoring 418 runs at a strike rate of 149.28, finishing as MI’s second-highest run-getter.
Earlier in May, Sharma shocked fans by announcing his retirement from Test cricket, just ahead of the new World Test Championship (WTC) 2025–27 cycle. In an emotional Instagram story, he wrote:
“I wish to share that I am retiring from Test cricket. Representing India in whites has been an incredible honor. I’m deeply grateful for all the love and support over the years. I will continue to serve the country in the ODI format.”
With Rohit stepping down from the red-ball game, Shubman Gill was entrusted with the Test captaincy. His leadership began with a five-match series in England, which ended in a competitive 2-2 draw.
As Ganesh Chaturthi brought a moment of peace and devotion for Rohit Sharma, fans across the nation celebrated his family spirit off the field while continuing to admire his contributions as India’s ODI leader.
