IPL 2024: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced rescheduling the Kolkata Knight Riders vs Rajasthan Royals match at Eden Gardens to April 16. This change allows the Gujarat Titans’ (GT) clash with Delhi Capitals (DC) at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad to take place on April 17, as initially planned.
Initially dividing the IPL schedule into two phases, the BCCI released the itinerary for the first 21 matches before announcing the remainder of the 53 fixtures following the general election schedule’s announcement.
The IPL’s second phase, comprising 52 matches plus playoffs, commences on April 8, with CSK hosting Kolkata Knight Riders in Chennai for the opener. Playoff matches will adhere to the usual evening schedule.
Chennai will hold its inaugural IPL final in 12 years on May 26. The M.A. Chidambaram Stadium, home to the Chennai Super Kings, last hosted the IPL final in 2011 and 2012.
