Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) have made a significant move by announcing New Zealand pacer Matt Henry as the replacement for England all-rounder David Willey for the remainder of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 season.
Willey’s departure from the tournament, citing personal reasons, prompted LSG to seek a replacement. Having retired from international cricket after the 2023 ODI World Cup, Willey had already missed Lucknow’s IPL opener against Rajasthan Royals.
Matt Henry, known for his pace and skills, joins LSG for IPL 2024, stepping in for Willey. The New Zealand fast bowler comes in at his base price of INR 1.25 crores, bringing depth and experience to the Super Giants’ bowling lineup. Henry’s addition adds a new dimension to LSG’s squad as they aim to make an impact in this year’s IPL campaign.
