Chennai Super Kings (CSK) received a significant boost as their promising speedster, Matheesha Pathirana, landed in Chennai to bolster the team for the 17th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Pathirana’s arrival follows a period of recovery from a hamstring injury, confirmed by his manager, Amila Kalugalage.
Kalugalage provided an update on Pathirana’s fitness, stating that the young pacer had fully recuperated and was declared fit to participate in the highly anticipated tournament. Despite missing CSK’s opening match, which saw the defending champions clinch a victory against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru on March 22 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, Pathirana is poised to make a strong impact for his team throughout the season.
Expressing his excitement about joining CSK, Pathirana’s manager took to the social media platform ‘X’ to share the news of his arrival in India. Alongside a picture featuring Pathirana with the pilots of the plane, the caption read, “Wanakkam Chennai. He has just landed in India.”
Pathirana’s inclusion adds depth and firepower to CSK’s bowling arsenal, further strengthening their title defense aspirations in IPL 2024. With his talent and determination, Pathirana is expected to play a pivotal role in CSK’s campaign as they strive for success in the upcoming matches.
