In cricket, India isn’t typically known for producing super-fast bowlers. So, when a genuine speedster emerges, it creates quite a buzz. A few seasons ago, Umran Malik grabbed headlines for his lightning pace. Now, in IPL 2024, another sensation has arrived – Mayank Yadav.
During the clash between Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Punjab Kings (PBKS) at Ekana Stadium, Mayank Yadav set tongues wagging by unleashing a bullet clocked at a staggering 155.8 kilometers per hour (kph). It’s not just a one-off; the new skipper of LSG has consistently bowled thunderbolts at over 150 kph, impressing everyone.
Mayank Yadav’s IPL debut was marked by sheer speed. His first ball clocked at 147.1 kph, and he quickly crossed the 150 kph mark in his very first over. However, the most electrifying moment came in the second over against Shikhar Dhawan. Yadav delivered a good-length ball, angling across the left-hander. Dhawan attempted to make room and steer it towards the offside, but the sheer pace left him flummoxed. The ball whizzed past his bat, leaving him helpless.
But Yadav didn’t stop there. He went on to claim three wickets in his four overs, derailing Punjab Kings’ charge. Despite their strong start, chasing a target of 200 set by LSG, Yadav’s lethal bowling turned the tide in favor of Lucknow.
Mayank Yadav’s thunderous pace has breathed new life into IPL 2024, shaking up batsmen and thrilling spectators. As the tournament progresses, all eyes will be on this young speedster, eagerly awaiting more fiery deliveries and breathtaking moments on the cricket field.
