Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) vice-captain Nicholas Pooran delivered an inspiring address to his teammates following their recent triumph over the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the ongoing IPL 2024 season. Pooran’s motivational words came after LSG secured a notable victory against CSK, registering their second win against the formidable opponents.
In the thrilling encounter, Lucknow set a challenging target of 210 runs, propelled by an exceptional century from skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad. However, it was the dynamic all-rounder Marcus Stoinis who stole the show with a remarkable 125-run innings, guiding LSG to victory with six wickets to spare.
Addressing the dressing room after the match, Pooran commended Stoinis’s match-winning performance while emphasizing the team’s need for improvement in certain areas. He highlighted the importance of executing plans effectively, particularly in fielding and bowling, to maintain their momentum in the tournament.
“We won this game today thanks to Marcus Stoinis’s brilliant innings,” Pooran remarked. “However, we cannot overlook our lapses in the field, especially in the crucial final overs. As a team, we must learn from these experiences and strive for improvement.”
Pooran urged his teammates to embrace the challenges ahead and maintain a positive outlook, emphasizing the need for confidence, determination, and flawless execution. He credited the team’s coaching staff for their contributions and called upon the players to deliver performances that would reflect positively on the leadership and support they received.
With their sights set on the IPL 2024 playoffs, Lucknow Super Giants will look to build on their recent successes as they prepare to face the Rajasthan Royals in their next encounter at the Bharat Ratna Shree Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Stadium in Lucknow on April 27.
